Bubbles and Bonnard

Hello. This is my first blog entry ever. My name is Andrew James Eccleston, but most people call me Drew. I was born in Bakersfield, California, but I am now living on campus at Biola University in La Mirada, which is a pretty decent part of LA. I am excited about the blog, but nervous at the same time. What if my blog doesn't live up to blog standards? I have never followed anyones blog until very recently, and therefore have very little experience with them. I'm sure you can see why I am a little timid about this. Anyways..

My first entry will be about some things that were interesting to me today. First of all, around 5 o'clock I was enjoying some beautiful weather outside on my dorm's balcony and was eating some delicious homemade honey straight out of the jar. (I have a friend from Bakersfield that lived on a bee farm) While this was happening I noticed some bubbles in the honey. Already deep inside my own head, I began to think of what bubbles really were. A bubble is just something that is nothing. The whole idea of this was just so fascinating for some reason. I know I have had this thought before, but something about seeing the bubbles hanging lifeless in the honey was just amazing. Next time you are around honey, look at it for a couple minutes, it's pretty crazy.

Next, if you are ever bored, you should go online and look up some stuff on the artist Pierre Bonnard. I started a book today called The Accidental Masterpiece; On the Art of Life and Vice Versa. I'm not trying to sound pretentious by any means, in fact the book is a required text for my required art appreciation class. However, I am enjoying it so far. Anyways, the first chapter is about Bonnard and it is just intriguing. This guy was awesome. I want to be him.

Lastly, a good friend of mine pointed out today that Thom Yorke and Benjamin Linus look very much alike. As they are two of my favorite people, I was surprised that I had not already made the connection. If you do not know who they are, then don't worry about it.

This is my first blog entry. I think its pretty safe. Not much to go off of today, but I did what I could.
